We contracted Saunders to remove Vermiculite from our attic and thereafter air seal and re-insulate. We were very happy with the work as well as the customer service. Steve came to give us an estimate very promptly and then was able to schedule the work within a couple weeks. He was very informative regarding recommendations for a better energy efficient home, yet did not pressure us into any purchases. Afterwards they even helped us do an Energy audit in order to qualify for Focus on Energy incentives. We couldn't be happier with Saunders Insulation and will definitely call them for future projects!

Work involved removal of asbestos vermiculite and abandoned duct work from the attic and new blown in insulation, air sealing and energy audit. Steve, Julia and crew were punctual, professional, knowledgeable and maintained a clean/safe work site. Highly recommend them!

They did an excellent job the opening to the crawl space had to expanded to allow entry of a man, and Saunders was able to do this. They installed a bathroom fan , so that the fan could be vented to the outdoors instead of into the Attic. Saunders personnel were able to tell me what they saw while down in the crawl space, which included other issues that I will need to resolve in the future, but which I'm glad to be made aware of. Per my brother who is an engineer, Saunders did an excellent job of both lining and insulating the crawl space and insulating the attic. My brother is picky so I can recommend Saunders installation specialist.

Home Energy Audit
I asked Saunders to do a home energy audit and then redo what needed to be done in a house that hadn't been touched since it was built in 1963, as far as I could tell. One bedroom always seemed cold. Their audit revealed a lot of heat loss. When they got into the attic they discovered that the bathroom fan had been vented to the attic, not to the outside, and mold was growing under the roof. They fixed that and they identified small gas leaks that needed to be repaired and areas between the garage and the house that needed to be caulked. They have come back to retest after their work and made some additional improvements. Considering the size of the job and the kind of professional--and fun--attitude they brought to the job, I would recommend them highly. Their integrity shines through.
